Drink milk to keep your knees healthy.
Exercise and a healthy weight can keep your knees healthy, but did you ever think of milk? You know milk is good for bones. Turns out it may also be good for your joints – specifically your knees.
A study of men and women with osteoarthritis in the knee showed that women who drank milk had less progression of the disease. The same effect was observed in men, but only those who drank a lot of milk (7 or more glasses a week). The effect was noticed with fat-free and low-fat milk, but not whole milk, cheese or other dairy products.
That’s a pretty easy way for women to keep their osteoarthritis from worsening.
